School Governors

All schools within Somerset Road Education Trust (SRET) have their own Local Governing Body (LGB). The LGB have delegated authority from the Board of Directors according to the SRET Scheme of Delegation. The governing body at Wyndham Park meet eight times a year. We currently do not have any committees as the LGB takes oversight of all school matters. Below is some more information about some of our current Governors

Hamish Morton

Hamish Morton is Chair of the Local Governing Body at Wyndham Park Infants’ School. He lives in Salisbury with his wife, Anna, and their three children, one of which is in year 2 at Wyndham Park and the other two about to join soon. Hamish is originally from Salisbury and studied at Bishop Wordsworth School before attending Coventry University to study Sport Science and later the University of Gloucestershire to complete an MA in Sports Development. In 2006 he joined the Rugby Football Union and has been there ever since. He is currently the national Rugby Development Manager for Further Education and Sixth Form Colleges. Rugby is as much a hobby as it is a job for Hamish, and he has played at Salisbury Rugby Club since he was young.

Stephen Hackett

I am Head Gardener for Horatio’s Garden – a Salisbury-based charity creating gardens for spinal injury patients – as well as running my own business, The Constant Gardener. In my previous life I lectured in further and adult education, including a stint as Principal of Denman College (the Women’s Institute’s residential college in Oxfordshire), and worked for the Arts Council. My wife and I have lived in Salisbury for over 20 years, and both our children attended Wyndham Park. I have been a governor at Wyndham Park since 2010, and am a Director of Somerset Road Education Trust.

Nick Barrett

I work for DSTL, the science & technology part of the MoD and have lived in Salisbury since 1997. I have one child who has been through Wyndham Park. I joined the Governing Body in 2013 and I am Health & Safety Governor.

Hannah King

I was brought up in Salisbury and am the mother of 2 daughters who have been through Wyndham Park. I have been a Parent Governor since 2012 and a member of WPSA. I enjoy my involvement with the school and its community.

Bruce Springett

I am a serving officer in the Army currently based in Andover and live in Salisbury with my wife and daughter; all three of us are connected to Wyndham Park.  Me as a governor; my wife as treasurer of the WPSA, as well as St Mark's Pre-School and; our daughter is in reception year, having previously attended St Mark's Pre-School.  I sit on the Finance & Premises Committee and take a close interest in the use of the pupil premium due to the forces connection.  A keen sportsman I compensate for not playing rugby these days by cycling and swimming regularly; that is when I find the time between undertaking DIY to modernise our house and keeping our daughter entertained!

Colin Skelton

I have been a governor at the school since 2008 and both my daughter and son have attended the school. I have been a parent governor and a community governor. Outside of Wyndham Park I am a scientist, working in the defence sector, and I have a great interest in politics and economics.

Tim Milne

I moved to Salisbury in 2002 to take up a research position for the MoD. My wife and I have two boys, the eldest who attends year two at Wyndham Park and the youngest who will hopefully attend in the next school year. I became a governor at the start of 2016 as I wanted to contribute to the school as well as hearing more about how it is run. A particularly enjoyable part of being a governor is helping at the school’s fund raising events and witnessing the close-knit community at Wyndham Park. Outside interests include music and football – with minimal time for either!

Andrew King

I am a serving Army officer currently based in Andover, but will take up a new post at Larkhill in August 2017. I live close to the school with my wife and three daughters. We moved to Salisbury in 2013 and I joined the Local Governing Body as a Parent Governor in January 2016. My eldest two children are in Years 1 and 2, and my youngest daughter should start at Wyndham Park in 2019.

Nigel Marshall

I have lived in Salisbury for 10 years and have a daughter and a son at Wyndham Park, where I have been a Parent Governor since January 2016. I am an actuary working for an insurance company near Southampton.
