Absences during Term Time
We ask that holidays are not taken during term time as long periods (one or two weeks) away from school break the continuity of learning and often unsettle a child.
However, the Head of the School may give discretionary permission for such holidays of up to ten days in exceptional circumstances. Requests should be made on a ‘leave of absence request form’ which is available from the school office. Holidays taken without permission are registered as unauthorised absences and reported to the local authority. This can result in fixed fines.
Parents should notify the school of the reason for their child's absence each day by 9.30am. This can be done by telephone or email. Any absences not notified will be considered unauthorised.
